SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — Ten finalists were chosen for Plant Riverside's The Next Original art competition.
The contest asked up-and-coming artists to submit original artwork, including sculptures, photography, and paintings, with the winner featured on a billboard in New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve.
Participant Olga Furman traveled from New Jersey to take part and said she already feels like a winner being chosen as one of the finalists.

"It will be a dream come true. I would never imagine something like that would happen to me," Furman said. "Finally, to do what I love the most and be appreciated by others. I don't have words for this. It means a lot."
Hotel owner Richard Kessler said he was shocked to see more than 1,500 contestants apply for the contest.
He said he loved all the finalist's work so much that he named them all grand winners, declaring they would rotate using the billboard on New Year's Eve and the following day.
