SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Honda is recalling 1.1 million Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States that received a defective driver’s airbag either as a permanent Takata airbag recall replacement or as a service part installed following a crash or problem with the airbag itself.
The company said here it was aware of one injury linked to the defect, which may have caused the airbag to rupture when it was deployed in a crash.

Another 100,000 vehicles are being recalled in Canada, Mexico and Central America, Honda said.
NHTSA Deputy Administer Heidi King urges everyone to check their Vehicle Identification Number to see if your airbag is defective and needs to be replaced.
