CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. (WTGS) — An attorney for a man who was beaten while being held at the Camden County Jail is calling for a larger investigation into the sheriff's office.
Harry Daniels represents Jarett Hobbs, the man whose beating in September resulted in one Camden County deputy and two detention officers being indicted earlier this month.

The day after the three officers were indicted on battery charges, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported another use-of-force incident at the Camden County Jail resulting in the arrest of a deputy.
According to the GBI, Camden County Deputy Jacoby Anderson, 25, hit an inmate several times with a closed fist.

Anderson was arrested for one count of misdemeanor simple battery and one count of felony Violation of Oath of Office and booked into the Camden County Jail.
On Thursday, Daniels called out 'the dangerous pattern of abuse and violence' at the Camden County Sheriff's Office. According to Daniels, the inmate beaten by Anderson was a 23-year-old Black man.
In addition to the two separate beatings in the jail, Daniels pointed to the shooting and killing of a 37-year-old Black woman by CCSO deputies while they served a search warrant on her cousin in May 2021.
They say that once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence and three times is enemy action,” Daniels said. “That’s exactly what we have here. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t need to go looking for violent criminals. They have plenty of criminals in their ranks and they pose a clear danger to all of us.
In November following the beating of Jarrett Hobbs, Daniels requested the Department of Justice to investigate the sheriff's office. He said on Thursday he'll be updating that request to include this most recent incident.
This isn’t a couple of bad apples," Daniels said. "This is a bad apple tree.
