BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTGS) — A car fire did extensive damage on Thursday to the house it was parked next to when it ignited.
Firefighters from the Burton Fire District and the Beaufort/Port Royal Fire Department were called to the house in the Mint Farms community.
The first call went out that the house was on fire, but when firefighters arrived, they could see the vehicle was fully involved and the flames were spreading up the side of the two-story home.
They were able to get the fire out before it got into the home. However, the flames melted some of the aluminum siding on the house.
No one was injured and the residents were allowed to return home.
